"Well I entered the academy at six years old like most of you guys. I wasn't exactly advanced in skill compared to the other students at the time. In fact, I graduated a year later than my friends. When they graduated at eight, I had to wait until I was nine. Still a pretty fast graduation by today's standards but I was still the odd one out. But, I worked my butt off to catch up to the other genin and I eventually surpassed a good number of them. " he explained to Ren as he was thinking back to that time.
"I decided to wait a year before entering the chunin exams while most of my old classmates had two years to train. When I met up with them at the exams, I had reason to be proud. I was one of the two genin to have graduated that year! All those people doubting me and treating as inferior finally started looking up to me. It was great. After three years of hard work, I was pronounced as a jounin at thirteen. My old classmates... the earliest to make jounin was sixteen. Hard work, passion, and effort is what made me get ahead of them. " he explained to Ren as he fondly recollected the events. He did alright for himself.

Ren leaned forward, resting her chin in her hands as she listened to his story. From nothing he surpassed his classmates, that was pretty impressive, plus it wasn't everyday that some made ranks at their age. Ren was amazed by the man in front of her and all of the hard work he had to go through.
She once more looked around wondering when her other teammates would come around, who would want to miss out on an impressive man as their teacher!

"So how do you feel about your time at the academy? Do you feel prepared for your time as a genin? Feeling nervous? Honestly I wasn't quite sure what to feel as a genin. In a way it makes it more exciting I feel. " Ryouchi said in order to add the conversation. He didn't really want to go on about himself right now. Often times he would go on and on, it would be a little annoying at some point. But he knew this day wasn't for him, it was for his students. After all, this was their first step into being a real ninja.
He looked up to the sky, it was a beautiful day. A perfect day to test his team's current skills. Ryouchi had a big smile on him, a perfect day to start his life as a leader of genin. " A perfect day for a little exercise isn't it?" he asked though not really asking but more of telling Ren it was indeed a good day for training. He let out some smoke out his nose again to regulate his body temperature.

Ren shrugged. "It was long and dull. Probably stuff my big brother could've taught me... If he wasn't busy." Ren laughed slightly. "But I'm pumped up! I've been ready for this for a very long time!" Ren smiled big and looked up to the sky, a bird flew by chirping a happy tune. "If I were nervous or not ready then I would be home with my mother, helping her out around the house then. But that would make me feel shameful." She looked back at her sensei, a smile still on her face.
Of course, she knew this to be true; everyone in her family would feel shameful because they all were ninjas, well her mother retired to start a family. "The only one not working as a ninja is my mother. She wanted time to raise a family." She nodded slowly as she spoke. It was silent for a moment until Ryouchi brought up that it was a nice day for exercising. She thought he was right about, it was too nice to stay inside for the day. "Yeah, you're right." Ren giggled.

"Well if that's the case than we may not need to waste time teaching you and the others all the stuff the chunin teachers forget to teach you. I'm not talking bad about your teachers or anything, just when you spend most of your time teaching and not taking actual missions you tend to lose sight about what's actually practical for students to learn. Can you use your chakra to walk up trees yet?" he asked. That in his mind was one of the more important basics chunins often forgot to teach. Fighting at every angle was important and it taught chakra control.
He walked up to a tree and vertically walked up it and stood upside down on. He then flipped over the branch and under back and forth on his feet. He then jumped down and sat back down. " A good way to add more unpredictability in combat as it adds complete three hundred sixty to vertical combat. And also a great way to practice proper controlling and channeling."

She blinked a few times wondering what he was talking about, that was until he decided show her what he was talking about. Ah yes. Big bro showed this to me. She thought back to when her brother showed her this technique, telling her that since she was a water jutsu user that the higher up jutsus would be the hardest to learn and conquer. Ren never actually thought it could be used for battle, so this was something to learn.
"Hm." She said in thought as she walked up to the tree and touched the bark lightly. "I remember my big brother telling me about this. But he never gave me a chance to actually do it." Ren pressed her lips together, wondering if she could it. Most of the things she learned did require her to focus on chakra control. Well... I'm pretty sure and jutsu user will have a grasp with their chakra control though. She laughed mentally to herself. "So, this is something that chunnins get to learn." She said in awe, this would be awesome to learn and to use. "I guess I should give it a try, huh?" Ren smiled nervously over to her teacher.

"Actually, it should be learned as a genin. It's however usually taught by the Jounin of the squad. However, I feel this should always be known prior to actually reaching genin. Having to teach this while on the job really isn't productive for having quick mission success. But oh well. Next time I'll request for that to be taught during academy time. Tricky for beginners but not to hard if given time and if started early." Ryouchi said as he yawned.
"Try to concentrate your chakra into the bottoms of your feet. Put in too much and you'll wipe yourself out after a few tries. Too little and you fall immediately. You need to find the balance. having correct chakra balance allows you to use jutsus more effectively. You'll have a better mastery of later jutsus by using only the amount of chakra you need. That way you have enough energy later." He said explaining why this skill was important.

Dashe was walking along the main street of the village headed for the academy. He was finally starting his ninja journey now and was looking for a team. How convient that already a jounin was looking for one. Hopefully he got a long with his teammates or he would have to drop out and find another team that suited him. He felt strange heading back to the academy though. He hadn't exactly made any friends there he had been more focused on his schoolwork than just hanging around with kids his age. He shrugged then moved a hand to push his glasses up a little before reaching into a pouch and pulling out a small blue book flipping it open.
"Feels nice to be out here free as a bird," Dashe muttered to himself now. Being clan head he was always busy reading and signing papers and making appearances at benefits for the clan. People only saw him as the clan head and not Dashe. Becoming a ninja and travelling far and wide to do missions would allow him to make a reputation for himself. People would finally see him as himself. He was close to the academy now as he could finally see it and saw two people already there. A blond haired man was chatting with a girl his age. She was kinda cute he thought a faint blush streaking across his cheeks only to quickly vanish. He snapped his book shut and pocketed it before walking towards them pushing his glasses up again. He was about to say hey when he heard the man mention walking up trees. Seems the girl didn't know how to do that yet so perhaps he could impress her. He then walked over to a tree and walked up halfway before stopping and looking down at them.
"Name's Dashe Storm and I'm here to join the team," Dashe spoke up now. He then jumped off landing between them. He then smiled sheepishly and ran a hand through his hair now. "Sorry for interrupting like that. I'm not too late am I?

Goodie. I'm behind already... Ren thought walking away from the tree. Of course, she thought she shouldve paid attention to her brother. What was I doing durning that time... Ren rubbed her chin in thought remembering that day. "Well, it's a good thing you'll make that suggestion." Ren rubbed the back of her head.
Ren then heard a voice and looked at the tree and there standing in the middle of the tree was teammate number two. Even he knows?! She stiffened up holding a fist in front of her. "I'm a failure!" Ren dropped to her knees, "But it's nice to meet you Dashe." She brought a hand up and waved weakly. If one of her brothers came by they probably would've laughed their head up to see how there were more experienced people around her and tell her to pay attention next time someone was teaching her.
This is what I get only learning the real basics of the academy jutsus along with those of my element. I still don't even know how to get my full beast activated. Ren bit her thumb as she was thinking, I might be the hendernce of this group. She thought in horror remembering what her father taught her. He told her to always be at the same level as her team. Ren ruffled her hair up in anger. No I just need to calm down. Ren took a deep breath and smiled. "Sorry about that." She chuckled, blushing a little from showing her anger.

"Showboating is all good and fun when I'm not teaching young Storm. Feel free to impress the girls on your own time and not mine." Ryouchi told Dashe in a scolding manner. He was much bigger than Dashe and the smoke releasing from his mouth made him look imposing. He waited for a moment, holding that expression to see how Dashe would react. He then smiled and chuckled. "Nice to have you around and welcome to the team."
Although he was right about Dashe interrupting Ren's lesson, it really wasn't too much of a distraction. Honestly, Ryouchi did the same things at that age. "Help yourself to some left over sushi while we wait for another teammate. Feel free to chat about with me or Ren, as long as you don't disrupt her climbing. Also feel free to help out Ren." he said kindly inviting Dashe to try his food.
"Stay focused on what you're doing. Be aware that their will be plenty of distractions on missions at times, but staying focused yet aware of the outside is needed to be effective. Find the proper balance of chakra you need. And if you cannot use your feet alone just yet, feel free to try crawling up and then improve until you can use only your feet. There is no pressure right now, go at your own pace." Ryouchi told Ren as he tried to cheer her up after she messed up.
