Alright, I've been thinking about the ideas that have been tossed around so far. Basically there's been two main ideas: Gaiden Arc or Next Generation. There's pros and cons for both of these ideas, but those are pretty much the two things floating around.

Gaiden: Not much has really been said about this. The only problem I have with this is that people would lose their cannon characters. If this idea was chosen, the basic plot is in the manga and anime, but we could still have original ideas put into it, too.

Next Generation: This seems to be the more popular idea. There's a lot that we can do with this idea. The Time-Warp plot could be used in this, like Sakumo suggested. New bad guys and other stuff could be created, like Zanzou said. The only problem I see with this is the issue with choosing the character pairings. A way around this could be making it 100+ years into the future, but then some would still lose their cannon's.

I do like the next generation idea alot but like you said the pairing choices I feel everyone would have to agree on them or some child choices might be left out. If we can all agree on the parents then that would be awesome. I also think we should take into account that we dont want houndres of naruto's kids running around ect. There should be a set limit to the amount of kids each parent could have, but that limits choices also. And there are far less female cannons then male.

We can do a poll for the couples? I like the idea of it being in the future, plus I'm a very flexible person on who's with who. I also agree that there should be a limit on how many oc children there are.

all of it sounds like a good idea but I'd hate to lose my canon. I really wanna keep Naruto so idk.

Perhaps the canons could be thrown into the future somehow in Next Generation and meet the future versions of themselves and their oc children

The Next Generation idea doesn't need to be in the super future That was just an idea to get rid of the pairings. It can literally be the next generation, with Naruto and everyone still there. It's honestly no problem to make the pairings, we can just have a vote like Ren said. Easy peasy ;D

And Sakumo, you are totally right. There would have to be a set number of children, or the couples could even decide. That wouldn't be hard to do either.

yea I guess that makes sense to me now. I agree with having a poll for couples and as for how many oc children I'd say 5-10 and no more than that.

I agree with everything you guys said, just because your all so cool lol JK it makes sense! So Should we get a new thread going on who we think should be paired up and then create a poll for the disagreements?

Also I think "New original cannons" could be made for plot purposes. It might be a good idea if some show cannons were to pair up with are original site cannons and also have children: For example-

Shino is paired up with this female who is from a clan that specializes in unique spider jutsu and summons. Her whole clan is being held captive by a large rouge group of shinobies the hidden leaf must defeate the group and save her clan.

Something along those lines but it doesn't have to be that exact example plot.

We are too cool!!! For the plot, I was just planning on putting a general plot explaining how many years have gone by and what has happened in those years. Then I would post sub-plots like Sakumo said. That leaves the plot open to changes. New bad guys can form and I could bring back the Create Your Own Village Contest Most of you guys, probably weren't around for the first round of that haha.

So should I even put a poll up for choosing the new plot line? Or is the final decision basically made up already? I'm also going to post a poll for the new name, so make sure to vote when it's up! After that I'm going to post a thread where everyone can post their pairing ideas.

Another thing, I think Kakashi should be next Hokage since he was going to be chosen in the manga. Then Naruto can be next in line to be chosen. I also like the idea of Naruto bringing Sasuke back, but because of his actions the Uchiha clan is exiled from Konoha mwuahaha.
