"True but I suppose baa-chan is keeping to tradition," Naruto replied. As much as he wanted it he felt like competeing in the Chunin exams would be cheating the other genin out of their chance in becoming Chunin since he would hold an unfair advantage over them. He had defeated Pein after all and all they had done was missions like reascuing lost pets or doing yardwork. "I'd rather be a Genin then cheat some new Genins out of a chance in becoming a Chunin. Who knows what she's got planned for me. Maybe some special private test or something."
He shrugged and turned away as Shikamaru spoke to Ren again. She was lucky she didn't get Kakashi sensei as her teacher. He was always late because he was reading those dirty books. His sensei also had the last book Ero-sennin had written. He missed the old pervert always trying to push his ways onto him but he had at least passed his legacy onto him. His legacy was what fueled him to become Hokage now. He glanced at Ren and Shikamaru and smiled sheepishly. It was his generation that would change the world.

"Actually if I recall correctly Ren, your jounin leader has final say whether you're ready for the exams or not. They tend to wait about two years before allowing you to take the exams. Not always though. Naruto and I were genin only for about half a year before taking the exam. I hear Ryouchi is starting to form a team now. He's been given the opportunity to set up his team of genin, which isn't common. Usually a team is set up by your academy teacher so you guys play off each others strengths. Ryouchi's pretty lucky to choose his own. He's a pretty good ninja, hear his kekkai genkai styles are particularly lethal. If you ask him he might take you on." He said as he finished his meal. It was delicious.
He turned to Naruto and smirked. He thought it was ridiculous for Naruto to have to take the chunin exams. it was stupid in his opinion. As far as he was concerned, Naruto should have graduated at the same time he did. He did after all, defeat Gaara and sent the sand ninja to retreat back to their land. That felt like ages ago though. After only two and a half years, both villages were practically best friends. He knew first hand by being told to pair up with Temari in setting up exams.
"Seriously, the exams are a waste of time for you. You should be busy training to bring down more akatsuki creeps. I mean come one, you and I are tied at akatsuki takedowns and I'm the laziest guy in the village! They should have you keep going at it. I mean you're so much better and we're tied at beating s ranked monsters. Whatever though I'm ranting again. I'm going home to catch some shuteye. " he said as he yawned and stretched. He paid his check and got off of his seat. He lit a cigarette and waved at Naruto and Ren. He was wiped out.

Her high shoulders dropped after hearing that he teacher would have the final say. Great. Her eyes dropped. And I have to wait two years. She threw her head back and start to rubbed her head with her hands, messing up her hair and forehead protector. A couple next to her stared at her, but Ren was too much in her agony to wait.

She pumped her fists into the air, Ren was excited to have her own team now. But he was right, it was weird that she wasn't paired up with a team after she had graduated.
But her arms flapped down after hearing that this Ryouchi had a pretty good Kekkai genkai. "Oh goodie." Her head then dropped. I wonder what will kill me first; the missions or the Jounin? Ren thought. Ren looked up to watch Shikimaru talk more to Naruto and then left them alone once more to go and take a nap.

"Don't nap too long," Naruto yelled out to Shikamaru's retreating figure. He then smiled sheepishly turning back to Ren now. "Well there you go Ren. You'll have a team in no time maybe we'll work together sometime." He then turned in his chair so that he was facing outside now. "So did you wanna go hang or something now since we're done eating? We can just do some stuff you wanna do today." Training would probably just be boring to her right now since she didn't have a team so he'd let her decide. He then stood up and stretched before crossing his arms behind his head now. He then glanced at Ren waiting for her to decide.

It had been a relaxed day so far for Zan, though that could change anytime with a summon from the Hokage. The ANBU Captain shook his head as he made his way to Ichiraku, passing by a waving Chuunin. He was out of uniform though and was in his normal ninja attire which consisted of a normal Jounin uniform excluding the flak jacket and with the addition of a royal blue hooded cloak.
When he arrived at the ramen bar, his eyes scanned the bar and his eyes caught sight of the Kyuubi Jinchuuriki though his expression never showed anything other than his calm and collected mask. Waving towards the father and daughter duo that ran the bar, Zanzou took a seat near the Jinchuuriki and his company.
"Maa... Could I get an order of beef ramen?"

Ren went into thought as Naruto asked what she wanted to do today. Gosh, maybe I'm a boring a person. Her eyes flickered up. "Well, what do you normally do?" She chuckled, rubbing the back of her head, then smiled sheepishly. Ren was kind of curious as to what an experienced ninja would do in their own time.
She then looked at the person who entered into the shop. He had a pretty calm demeanor. "Hey, do you know that person?" Ren asked quietly so he wouldn't over hear her. Ren then slowly stood up, keeping her back away from Zonzou.

"When I'm not on missions usually some training," Naruto replied. Unless Shikamaru or someone else asked him to hang out that what he was usually doing. He often spent most of that time training Konohamaru. He was kinda like his own protege in sense. Naruto looked up when Ren asked about the newcomer that had sat near them. "Hm can't say that I do. I don't recognize him at all!" Yet another new face in the village he didn't recognize. He shrugged smiling sheepishly and turned back towards Ren. He then briefly glanced at Zanzou again wondering if he should introduce himself or not.

As he waited for his ramen to cook, Zanzou fished his pockets for a lighter and a cigarette and placed them on the counter. Turning to Naruto, the ANBU Captain eyed the blonde for a moment before calling out to him. "Uzumaki Naruto, right?" Asked the dark haired man. It's been some time now since he last saw the kid, always causing trouble in some form or another. Zanzou smirked inwardly at some of times he pulled his pranks, he always did liked the kid.

Ren nodded slowly. Training, of course. She thought to herself. Ren slightly turned her head, but then jumped slightly as the man asked for Naruto. Well, I saw this coming. Her eyes flickered over to Naruto. "I guess this is your show." Ren smiled up at him and turned around slowly to face the ANBU member.
A soft smile was on her face. Ren knew this wasn't her conversation until she was involved or she forced herself into the conversation.

"Yeah that's me alright and you are," Naruto asked with a sheepish smile. The guy seemed familiar to him but he couldn't place it. "This is my new friend Ren Yajuu," Naruto said. He shrugged a cheesy grin on his face and offered a hand to shake to Natsu. He didn't seem like one of the fans which were usually the villager's and their children. Naruto felt like they had met before but he often forget some people's faces. That and he had been quite busy these past weeks with the defeat of Pain and several other members of Akatsuki. He often wondered how all those people he had met back when he was twelve. He had made a lot of friends that lived all over the world.
