Zero looked at her then looked away. He smiled. "I followed you because unlike other people, you gave me a chance. Even if it was for information, anybody else would have attacked me blindly, not wanting to know anything." Zero said. "They would have fought me and be injured, thus, getting me in more trouble than initially intended." Zero stood up. He stretched. He knew he couldnt stay still, sitting, standing, or laying down, without getting stiff. "Its my kekkei genkai, Rina. Thats all I will tell you." Zero looked at her with his emerald green eyes.

"Hn I thought so," Rina said, staring back with her equally bright green eyes. Her pupils dilated briefly before she tore her gaze away. "I bet'cha think you're all sorts of cool being all secretive like that." She laughed again and popped another berry into her mouth. |

Zero smiled a bit. "I really could care less about being cool." Zero said, his hands on the back of his head. He looked away from her. "To tell you the truth, I don't know much about my kekkei genkai. There is basically no information about my clan left. I only know about my kekkei genkai through instinct."Zero sat back down on the floor. He looked at her again only for a second then turned away.

"What'd you say your surname was... Kaji? Hmm," Rina said, more to herself than to Zero, trying to remember if she had ever heard his name before. No, she had never heard of that name before. She would have remembered because she doesn't forget anything. Ever.
"Have you tried doing any research on your family? Like your history? Wait, or do you belong to a clan? Hm... Anything at all?" she asked. Her mind was beginning to spin again. Zero had definitely caught her curiosity, and she wouldn't stop until she had gotten answers. Even if she had to use force. |

"Yes, I've searched. I've gone through countless scrolls, asked hundreds of people, and even gave my house a strip down. I found nothing. My parents died when I was young, so I can't ask them. It seems like my old clan dissapeared from history, without a trace." Zero said. "Whatever happened to my old clan, or whatever my old clan was, they must've been important if someone is trying to erase them from history." Zero remembered something. "The old grounds of the Kaji Clan are in the Suna desert, smack dab in the middle. When I went there, I searched for information but I didn't find anything." He held his head in his hand. "Except..."

It is just not possible that he didn't find anything, Rina thought to herself. Clans didn't just disappear because they felt like it. A lot of clans may be secretive, like her own, but they didn't vanish. When a clan is wiped from history it wasn't by accident. A clan disappears because people are selfish and they fear things that are different. They're afraid of power. That was why Rina, and the entire Yajuu clan, strives for perfection. They wouldn't be so easily killed off.

Zero closed his eyes. The memories from the fight with the dragon were starting to resurface. Along with the agonizing pain. He roared in pain. The dragon mark showed clearly on his arm. His eyes went into their dragon state. Then it stopped. He had one hand on the ground, supporting him. His other hand was on his face, he couldn't believe what he saw. "I...I think I know what my clan was..." Zero said, looking at her with his dragon eyes. "They...they protected the core of the element of wind."

Rina was surprised for a moment when he shouted. Her eyes widened in shock, but she regained her composure in a matter of seconds after mentally cursing herself for not being prepared for his reaction to his memories. She would have to train harder in her work out later that day.
After her initial surprise, she became extremely curious. She calmly set the bowl of strawberries on the table and continued to observe the boy from her perch on the couch. She rested her chin in her palm, waiting for Zero to regain his composure. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long.
As the dragon mark began to appear on his arm and his eyes began to change, Rina sat up straighter to get a better look. Interesting... So this is part of the Kaji Clan's power.
"I...I think I know what my clan was..." Zero said, looking at her with his dragon eyes. "They...they protected the core of the element of wind."
"What the hell do you mean?" Rina asked, getting up from the couch and going into the kitchen again. She filled a glass of water and returned to Zero's side, handing him the cup. "Drink this or you'll probably pass out." |

"I-I'm okay..." Zero said, pushing away the cup of water. It took him a bit to straighten himself out. "The Dragon...I asked him what my clan was. He told me. He said we were the protectors of the wind dragon Core. The energy that allows the winds to blow and allows ninja's to use wind style jutsu." Zero said. "There are five clans like mine, each with their own respective element. Fire, Water, Earth, Lightning, and Wind." Zero looked at her. His eyes were still like a dragon's. "It's encoded in our DNA. It's what gives us our specific kekkei Genkai." He grabbed his head again. "That's all I can remember..."

Rina raised her eyebrows when Zero pushed the glass of water away. "Suit yourself then," she said with a shrug, setting the cup on a nearby table. See if she'd try to help him again. However, she remained by his side; if he really did pass out, she didn't want him hit his head off anything. Then it would just be a pain in the ass to have to clean the blood off of everything.
Zero seemed to have regained his composure. He kept talking about some dragon and something about a dragon core... Whatever the hell that was. From his explanation she was left with more questions than answers. "What's this dragon you keep talking about? And what's a wind dragon core? And why didn't you remember any of this until now?" |
